Tutoring Program
Available Year-Around
Mission Statement:
Through positive interaction, we empower students to reach their highest academic potential.
Program Description
Tutoring Services take place in the Teaching World Tutoring Center. Each student is instructed in a relaxed private setting by a certified teacher.
Our tutoring program is designed for ages 5 and up. Program subjects include the following areas:
• Reading
• Written Language
• Spelling
• Math
• Science/Social Studies
• Study Skills
• SAT/ACT
• GED
Each student is evaluated to determine strengths and weaknesses through an individualized academic assessment. Tutoring sessions are designed to address identified areas that need improvement. A variety of materials and activities are incorporated in each session to enhance learning. All resource materials that are used during tutoring sessions are provided.
Through our tutoring program, students develop new skills and strength-
en those they already possess. New methods of learning, individually taught, reinforce skill development. Program instruction will be monitored and adjusted as the student progresses.
Sessions are held Monday through Thursday, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday sessions are available from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Program Policies
To insure success for the student, a program agreement is signed by the responsible party and the program director. This agreement outlines expectations for all parties.
Tutoring sessions are one hour in length. Fees are as follows:
Tutoring assessment: $50 one time fee
Tutoring sessions: $28 each one hour session
Regular attendance is a key factor for the success of the program. Students need to arrive and depart in a timely manner.
Monthly tuition fees are due the first week of each month and payable in cash, check, or credit card. You will receive an invoice reflecting these fees the 1st of each month. A late fee of $15.00 will be incurred if payment is not received by the 7th of each month.
If it becomes necessary to cancel a tutoring session, the responsible party is required to notify Teaching World at least six hours before the beginning of the scheduled session that the student will be unable to attend. If this prior notification is not given, the tutoring session will be forfeited and charged accordingly.
